Christmas 2008
We had the greatest Christmas ever this year and I must share why. A few months before Christmas we decided we would do something different this year. Martin and I decided we were not going to buy alot of gifts for the children and we would not buy each other anything. The reason behind this is we (as a family) are so blessed that we truly do not need anything we simply "want" for things. It is because of this Martin and I decided it was time to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas along with teaching our children the true meaning of Christmas. It is because of decisions like the above that I honestly believe this is the BEST Christmas we have ever had since we have been together! We spent Christmas Eve with my in laws and my parents at our house. We had a huge Christmas meal and it was yummy - then we opened the gifts from my in laws and gave them their gifts. The next morning we got up and the children had their Santa and also opened the gifts from my parents. After breakfast, Martin, my dad, Red and I went to a local BBQ restaurant and helped to feed the needy. I think that really helped Red understand there are people in this world that are less fortunate than our family and we should love and help ALL people regardless. Once we were done at the restaurant, we went back to the house and Martin fried a turkey and played a little night golf with Red - it was such a memorable time for all of us! Hope you and your families had a blessed Christmas and we are wishing you all a healthy and prosperous 2009!
