Thanksgiving Overview

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Atlanta. It was a great one, but a very emotional one as I have a feeling it will be one of my last with both of my grandmothers as one is 94 and the other is 90. I hope and pray I am wrong! Anyways, we woke up early on Turkey day and cooked the remaining sides at Gamma and Papap's - I was really grateful mom and I had already prepared a good bit of the meal so we were able to relax a little. After breakfast, we (Martin, myself, and the girls) headed over to my cousin Makay's house and visited with the family. I have included photos of us with my grandmother who is 94. The one thing that was so amazing is there were 5 generations of our family in that house!!!! Not too many people can say they lived to see that in their lives. After visiting for awhile and having a few nibbles of food, we went to the hospital to see my other grandmother. It was wonderful to see her and visit for awhile - despite the circumstances. After we went back to Gamma and Papap's and had our BIG meal and relaxed.

Friday morning, Gamma and Papap took BOTH of the girls for a haircut - this was P'nut's first and we saved a lock of hair for keepsake! After, they headed to The Pink Pig at Lenox Square in Buckhead. For those of you not from Atlanta, the Pink Pig is a historical ride that used to be at the Rich's in downtown Atlanta before the building was torn down. The ride has since moved locations to Macy's at Lenox Square. Unfortunately, they retired the old tram that rode outside on the ceiling at the downtown Rich's and they replaced it with a train - just not quite the same. What is wonderful is all of the memories I have at this time of year of my grandmother taking me and my cousin Abby to the downtown Rich's for breakfast with Santa and taking us for a ride on the Pink Pig! Now the tradition lives on as my parents take my children to the Pink Pig. It is memories like this that I am MOST thankful for!
