Pay it Forward!

I had to blog about this since it touched us so much. Martin and I have recently joined a church - The River Church. It is a loving church - full of wonderful people. The church is a come as you are kind of place - most Sundays you will find the members in shorts and flip-flops! The people are always happy to see you and the pastor is so down to earth. Anyway - I do have a reason for writing - Martin has been going through some really tough health issues lately and will be undergoing surgery in September. At small group last week we had to leave abruptly due to him not feeling well. Later that same week our group leader, Todd, sent Martin an email asking how he was doing and if there was anything our small group could do to help. Martin replied we were in good shape as far as the yard and house go but a meal would help me out. No more than 48 hours after Todd received that message did we have enough food to feed an army! I was so overwhelmed I cried. Words can not tell anyone what a huge relief this was to me knowing we had food already prepared and when I come home from work all I have to do is heat up the entree and add a veggie or salad. Thank you River Church - you truly are an example of God's love to us and to the community! I only hope we can pay it forward some day.
